DEBT NEGOTIATIONS AND SETTLEMENT

In certain situations, bankruptcy is not the ideal choice to resolve a person’s situation. Instead, negotiation with the creditor may be a better approach. Whether it is a credit card company or student loan company, this office has successfully either renegotiated credit terms or negotiated discounted settlements. The key is to contact the creditor, and maintain contact or have the lawyer maintain contact. They want to settle or restructure debts and not have the debt discharged in bankruptcy. Of Course, having funds to settle the case helps. There have been many cases where the settlement has occurred for less than 50cents/dollar. Just using the possibility of filing bankruptcy as a negotiating tactic has helped many of my clients attain positive results with their creditors.
